personal image bank 2

makeup/beauty shots

This Image bank is centred around makeup advertisement, to do this all the photos include a 'beauty shot' of the model which is most commonly a head shot (photo 1 being an exception). Commonly the models in these adverts are portrayed to have flawless skin and features (a lot of this could be down to photoshop) this is mostly evident in the adverts which are trying to sell foundation products. It also seem an occurring theme that all the adverts have one or two colours present throughout the whole advert which brings it all together.

The thirds advert is very powerful, I think a lot of this can be put down to the harsh red colour of the lipstick. I can assume this picture has been touched up in photoshop due completely flawless skin which is verging on the point of unnatural. Also in the close up section of the lips it's almost too perfect to beleive. However I do not think this detracts from the advert as the main aim would be for girls to see this advert and idolise the model with the subconscious belief that if they buy the certain lipstick advertised they too will look like her.

The second to last picture in the image bank is advertising nearly naked makeup, the product links in well with the picture as the model is taking on a slightly more natural look as opposed to some of the other heavily made up models in this image bank. The fact that the product and the picture link together so well it's clear this has been thought about before hand. The blurred green in the background also gives the impression she is outside (nature) adding to the natural theme of the advert.
