The overlay technique

For this technique you need two separate photographs and place them on top of each other in photoshop then you must double click on the background layer and make it into it's own layer. From here you experiment with the opacity and can rub out the bits you don't want an overlay effect of. Then flatten the image and do curve/levels to your desired effect.
